Ministerial Decree No. 1/2026: grants for AED defibrillators and prevention in the workplace

The Ministerial Decree No. 1/2026 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy , establishing the Fund for the Prevention of Cardiovascular and Oncological Diseases in the Workplace, provided for in Budget Law 2025.

This is relevant news for Italian companies because it also introduces economic incentives for the purchase of semiautomatic and automatic defibrillators (AEDs), increasingly important tools for worker safety.

Workplace Prevention Fund

The decree stipulates that, starting in 2026, the Fund shall finance:

  • health screening and prevention programs for workers

Applications will be funded in chronological order until available resources are exhausted.

Who is eligible for the incentives

Eligible for funding are companies that are up to date with their contribution and insurance obligations and comply with occupational health and safety regulations. The application must be submitted in the manner that will be indicated in the ministerial public notice.

In addition, with regard to the purchase of defibrillators, the grant is intended for companies that are not already required by law to have AEDs but voluntarily choose to invest in safety and prevention.

How to apply

The application for funding must be submitted through a computerized procedure, within the timeframe and in the manner that will be indicated in the specific public notice published on the website of the Ministry of Labor. For this reason, it will be important to periodically check the opening of the notices and prepare in advance with the necessary documentation.
